The Woodturners Gallery
Gary Zeff
Gary ZeffGary has been turning wood and building custom and reproduction
furniture for over 32 years. In addition, he has written critical and informative articles for “American Woodturner”, “Fine Woodworking”, and”Better Homes & Gardens WOOD” magazines. His exceptional work is sculptural rather than utilitarian and he enjoys incorporating other media like metal, paints, and patinas to complement the wood. In addition, he also uses carving, sandblasting, and pyrography as embellishments. Working in both urban and exotic woods, he relishes the process of analyzing each cut of raw wood to reveal its potential and showcase its natural beauty. Gary often creates an integrated base that elevates or suspends the piece. “Raising the work off the table lends a sense of importance to the piece- much like a king’s throne or a holy altar is raised”, he says. In the past, Gary has sold his work through art galleries but he is now offering his work only on his website, www.sculpturalwoodturning.com |
