Benoit Averly
Website: http://www.benoitaverly.comBenoît Averly turns and carves wood. As he creates his sculptures, he looks carefully at lines and shapes. He likes sharp contrasts, the play of shadows, black and white. Inspired by architecture and the search for sobriety. He builds his pieces of work with precision and sensitivity in a contemporary spirit.
His creations, to be put down or hung on the wall for interior decoration will find their place in modern indoors as well as classic ones. Benoît works to suit individual requirements and can provide custom made pieces. Feel free to ask for more information about dimensions and prices. Born in 1980, Benoît Averly grew up in Burgundy, France. He graduated from high school in 1999, then worked in different fields. He traveled in several countries in Europe and North America. He begins working wood with woodturning in 2002 with Gilbert Buffard and made it his profession in 2003. In spring 2004, he has the chance to work with well known turner Richard Raffan (Australia) from whom he learnt a lot about design and production. He maintains contact with Richard Raffan who has been an inspirational mentor for him. He has been Raffan's workshop assistant in both France and the United States.
